Can Strict Gun Laws Save Lives?
America's Plausible Solution To Its Gun Violence
More gun control and fewer guns add up to make less gun carnage in America, Mississippi and California is proof of that fact. Those are just a few examples, we're in a state with arguably the nation's strictest gun laws. As well as its lowest gun deaths, however, southern states still produce most of our country's gun tolls. The reason is that those are the states with lax gun control.
About 14,000 people have passed due to gun violence within the U.S. this year. However, these numbers are far less compared to the death tolls in Mississippi in 2021. With the nation’s highest gun death rate of nearly 34 per 100,000 people, that is around 18,000 in that year alone for Mississippi. It's fair to say that America's gun control and gun laws have improved throughout the years.
More importantly, the U.S.'s more rural and blue-stated areas seem to have the least gun violence, due to the fact that large cities and cities in general have more criminal gangs and organizations. Also, people are more aware of the dangers behind guns and gun ownership. Unfortunately because of recent school shootings as well as mass public shootings in America.
